Disorders

Our counselors work with both children and adults who are
depressed. Some indications of depression include the inability to enjoy
favorite activities, frequent absences from school/work or poor performance, persistent
boredom and poor concentration, and a major change in eating or sleeping patterns.
Our counselors consult with our clients in a way to identify the source(s) of the depression and
actively take steps to change their emotional state and behavior.
Our counselors have been facilitators in the bipolar support
groups. Through therapy, you can gain back your energy, confidence, positive prospective on
life, and overall well being.

Unresolved
Childhood Issues

Most adult survivors of childhood abuse
& neglect have heard these words: "Get over
it!"..."Forget about it!"..."That's over with
now--leave the past in the past!" As much as they would like to
follow these "suggestions," it just isn't that simple.
There is no quick fix...no magic pill...no step-by-step instruction
manual. The journey of recovery for survivors
is about growth--from child-like victim to empowered adult. Our
counselors provide a safe environment in which clients can learn to
identify, express, and manage their emotions; safely externalize
repressed rage; grieve their losses; receive emotional support;
develop self-trust; and learn or expand lifeskills. The results are
the ability to break free from the past and find a future with hope
and happiness.
